NBA: There is already agreement to start the 2020/21 season

The new season will have fewer games and fewer trips in the regular phase, which starts on December 22, and will end early so as not to collide with the Tokyo Olympics.

The NBA (North American Basketball League) reached an agreement with the players’ union (NBPA) to start the 2020/21 season on December 22, after adjustments in terms, especially in the financial area, the agency announced today.

The NBA and NBPA “reached an agreement in principle on the start of the 2020/21 season, as well as an understanding on adjustments to certain provisions of the current collective agreement affected by the covid-19 pandemic,” they say in a statement.

The joint note also adds that the agreement reached, which foresees the reduction of the number of games in the regular phase from 82 to 72 and of trips by the teams.
